Mijas Bowls Club Looks forward to Summer Season
Report by Christine Wilson Photograph by Eric Wilson.
The winter season is gradually coming to a close as the last of the visiting parties is being welcomed, the last of the winter competitions has been completed and the "snow birds" are drifting back to the UK to commence their outdoor bowling season. So the thoughts of the remaining players are turning towards the summer months.
Mijas Bowls Club will remain open throughout the summer months, but with different times which will come into effect in June. The summer times will be:
June and September – Tuesday and Sunday mornings – 9.00 for 9.30am
Thursday evenings – 6.30 for 7.00pm
July and August – Sunday mornings at 9.00 for 9.30am
Thursday evenings at 6.30 for 7.00pm
Visitors are always welcome. It is hoped there may be the occasional barbecue on Thursday evenings after bowling.
If you are in Mijas Pueblo on Saturday 10th May for the "Friendship Day" members of the bowls club will be there so look them up and have a chat to them. They will be easy to see as they will be in their "whites" with the Mijas badge on their shirts.
